Our Mighty Galentine's Day Pop-Up Shop at Amalgam Comics!

Hi friends! I'm very excited to share with you the first in a series of pop-up shops that I am hosting around the Philadelphia area. The events will feature local creative small businesses and progressive non-profit organizations.

We're going big for this first one as a celebration of Galentine's Day! What is Galentine's Day?

Galentine's Day comes from the beautiful mind of Leslie Knope, the fictional character from the TV show Parks and Rec. It is an annual holiday that always falls the day before Valentine's Day, February 13th, and is dedicated to celebrating the wonderful women in our lives!

This year, join me in celebrating the strength of our sisterhood at our pop-up shop featuring local women artists and makers.

Our Mighty Galentine's Day Pop-Up Shop

Saturday, February 11th  //  2 - 8 PM

The event will be hosted at Amalgam Comics & Coffeehouse, which is the first WOC-run comic book shop on the East Coast!

We will also be holding a donation drive to collect goods to support the clients of the local organization Women In Transition (WIT). WIT empowers women to move forward in their lives, away from domestic violence and substance abuse, through telephone counseling, individual empowerment counseling, support groups, referrals, community education and training, and WAVE empowerment self-defense.

To donate to WIT, please bring:

  • SEPTA tokens, to provide transportation assistance for clients
  • Women's toiletries and sanitary products
  • Baby diapers and wipes
  • Toddler-friendly toys and children's DVDs (new and gently used) for Play Care

If you donate an item to the drive, we will offer you a Galentine's Day gift as a small token of our appreciation!! (while supplies last, of course)

The event is free and open to all! Check out the Event Page for the latest information!

If you are interested in participating in future pop-up shops and community events, please contact me with information about your small business at - thanks!
